What Can Be Removed?

I am trained and experienced in the removal of the following areas:

  • Permanent Eyebrows Removal - Microblading, powder brows, ombre brows, and old eyebrow tattoos
  • Permanent Lip Liner Removal - Unwanted lip blush, lip liner, and full lip tattoos
  • Permanent Eyeliner Removal - Top and bottom eyeliner (saline method only for safety)
  • Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) Removal - Hair tattoo removal
  • Small Body Tattoo Removal - Unwanted small to medium sized tattoos

Two Professional Removal Methods

I use two different, highly effective methods of permanent makeup and tattoo removal, choosing the best approach for your specific situation:

1. Laser Tattoo Removal

Laser tattoo removal (or permanent makeup/microblading removal) can be used for eyebrows removal, permanent lips removal, and body tattoo removal.

How it works: The laser tattoo removal method breaks the ink into smaller particles, which are then removed by your immune system over the following weeks. This is a highly effective method that works on most colors and types of permanent makeup.

Important note: Although permanent eyeliner can technically be removed with laser, I DO NOT perform laser removal of permanent eyeliner because of the risks that laser treatment on eyelids poses. For eyeliner removal, I use the safer saline method.

Best For:

  • • Dark or stubborn pigments
  • • Old, well-healed tattoos
  • • Body tattoos
  • • Permanent eyebrows (not too close to eyes)
  • • Permanent lip liner and lip blush
  • • Scalp micropigmentation (SMP)

2. Saline Tattoo Removal

Saline tattoo removal is a non-laser method of removal/lightening of unwanted tattoos and permanent makeup. It can be safely used on brows, lips, eyeliner, and small body tattoos.

How it works: This method involves placing a special saline solution inside the skin, the same way the pigments were originally placed when doing your permanent makeup/tattoo. During the healing process, some pigment will come out and flake off with the scabs, leaving a lighter tattoo underneath.

The saline method is particularly gentle and safe, making it ideal for sensitive areas like the eyelids where laser cannot be used.

Best For:

  • • Permanent eyeliner (top and bottom)
  • • Sensitive skin around eyes
  • • Light to medium colored pigments
  • • Recent permanent makeup
  • • Clients who prefer non-laser methods
  • • All permanent makeup areas including brows and lips

⚡ Emergency Permanent Makeup/Tattoo Removal

Act Fast! Emergency removal can be performed within 48 hours of an unwanted tattoo/permanent makeup/microblading being done. This is a critical time window for the best possible results.

⏰ Time is critical: The emergency removal will only work within the 48-hour time frame, and the earlier the session is performed, the better the results will be.

Why 48 hours? After this time, the skin will close and emergency removal won't be as effective. If more than 48 hours have passed since the tattoo was done, a full healing process of 8 weeks must occur before attempting regular saline tattoo removal.

If you've just had permanent makeup done and you're not happy with it, contact me immediately! The sooner we act, the better your outcome will be.

Permanent Eyebrows Removal Case Study

My client came to my clinic in Peterborough asking if her permanent eyebrows could be removed. She had microblading performed by a newly qualified artist a few years ago, and unfortunately, the outcome wasn't the best: purplish color, unflattering shape, and left and right brows were quite different.

The Journey to Beautiful Brows

It wasn't a quick journey - it took us around a year to finally give this lovely lady the new brows she deserves!

Why it takes time: Old permanent makeup removal (tattoo removal) is not a quick process. It requires several lightening sessions with 2-3 months in between to allow enough time for skin to regenerate and old ink to be gradually flushed out from the skin.

Treatment plan: In this particular case, it took 4 sessions of saline tattoo removal to achieve enough lightening to be able to create the new eyebrow shape.

The results: The new shape is a lot more symmetrical and flattering, creating a visual lift and opening up the eyes, creating that beautiful frame for the face that we all desire.

What to Expect During Removal

1. Initial Consultation

We'll assess your unwanted permanent makeup or tattoo, discuss your goals, and create a personalized removal plan. I'll explain which method (laser or saline) is best for your specific situation.

2. Treatment Sessions

Most clients need 2-6 sessions depending on the age, depth, and color of the pigment. Sessions are spaced 6-12 weeks apart to allow proper healing and maximum pigment removal.

3. Healing Process

After each session, you'll experience a healing period of 7-14 days. The treated area may scab and flake as the pigment is removed. I'll provide detailed aftercare instructions to ensure optimal results.

4. Gradual Fading

You'll notice progressive lightening after each session. Once sufficiently lightened, you can choose to leave it natural, or we can create beautiful new permanent makeup for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many sessions will I need?

Most clients need between 2-6 sessions, depending on the age of the permanent makeup, depth of pigment, colors used, and your skin type. During your consultation, I'll provide a more specific estimate for your situation.

Does removal hurt?

Most clients describe mild to moderate discomfort, similar to getting the permanent makeup done originally. I use numbing cream to minimize any discomfort during the procedure.

How long between sessions?

Sessions are typically spaced 6-12 weeks apart. This allows your skin to fully heal and your immune system to naturally flush out the broken-down pigment particles.

Can all colors be removed?

Most colors can be successfully lightened or removed. Dark colors (black, dark brown) typically respond best to laser. Some resistant colors like certain reds or yellows may take more sessions. We'll discuss realistic expectations during your consultation.

Can I get new permanent makeup after removal?

Yes! Once the old pigment is sufficiently lightened or removed, and your skin has fully healed, we can create beautiful new permanent makeup with the correct shape, color, and technique for you.

Which method is better - laser or saline?

Both methods are effective, but each has its strengths. Laser is excellent for dark, stubborn pigments and body tattoos. Saline is ideal for sensitive areas like eyelids, lighter colors, and those who prefer a non-laser approach. I'll recommend the best method for your specific case.
